To my 1rB Batxillerat students at IES Marina: you are going to do some exercises about the places we are going to visit in Slovakia. Open a Word document with your name and class on it, write down your answers –and your description, your list, etc– and once you have finished, send it to this email address: teacherhector@gmail.com
I remind you that these exercises are compulsary and will be marked!
1) On our second day, we visit Sutovsky waterfall. Go to this link and answer these questions:
1) In which park is Sutovsky waterfall?
2) How high is it?
3) What do reviewers think about the photograph? List adjectives and expressions, like: wonderful, great picture, etc.
2) On our third day, we visit High Tatras (Strbeske Lake and Popradske Lake) and typical Slovak villages. First of all, watch this video and enjoy the High Tatras views!
Now watch this video of a typical village in Slovakia, take notes (you can pause the video where appropriate), and write a description (70-80 words) of a typical Slovak house.
3) On our fourth day, we visit Oravsky Castle and Besenova thermal park. Watch this video of the castle and tick the things you see:
A tiger skin
An organ
A dining room
A wooden clock
Two violin players
Blue, yellow and green bishop dresses
A machine
Red flowers
Three books next to a cross
Now, browse the website of Besanova Thermal Park and make a list of the characteristics of the park and the facilities there are.
Remember, when you finish all these activities, send them to teacherhector@gmail.com

Remember that the weather in May is very nice in Slovakia, with temperatures of about 20-24 degrees. You should wear comfortable clothes: a jacket, jeans, T-shirts, sweaters, pole-neck sweaters, swimming costumes or trunks, trainers… Do not forget to take an umbrella or raincoat.
Currency: as you already know, it is the Slovak crown (SK). 1 Euro is about 33-34 SK, and in Slovakia everything is cheaper for people who have Euros comparing with the prices in their own country.

Phrasal verbs revision
This is a webtask for my 1rB Batxillerat and PPAS students at IES Marina: click on this link, click on "Start session" and try to guess the meaning of some phrasal verbs. If you click on "Flip card", the catalan translation of the phrasal verb will appear.
This is a simple exercise, and it can be very useful for revision!
